Monstera Adansonii Swiss Cheese 120mm
Also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, Monstera Adansonii is a climbing vine with large fenestrations in it's leaves. The green leaves are delicate but very lush and you'll find this epic plant to be a classic in your indoor collection.
Care Level - Easy. The Adansonii is not as rugged as the Monstera Deliciosa, but for someone with basic plant experience this guy shouldn't be too hard to keep happy.
Light - The Monstera Adansonii is a jungle climber, so liked filtered light or bright indirect light. Be mindful of hot summer afternoon sun burning your leaves in hotter months, but they do best in a well lit space.
Water - We recomend watering when the top inches of soil feels dry. A couple of times a week in summer, and every week or two during winter as a rough guide.
Food - In warmer growing months, give a quality liquid fertiliser monthly for the best growth, but hold off during winter.
Propagation - The Monstera is easy to propagate from cuttings. You can cut the stem when long enough, keeping a node, and sit the stem in water or damp perlite to grow roots in a well lit spot. Once the roots have grown a bit, the rooted cuttings can be potted up into soil to continue to grow. Best to prop in warmer months for best results.
Soil - Monstera likes a well draining soil, thats light, airy but still retails moisture. Potting mix with coco peat is great, and some perlite will assist in drainage.
Pets - Monsteras are toxic if eaten, so keep this one away from your fur babies if they are prone to eating your plants.
